Carnauba wax is obtained from the carnauba palm leaves (Copernicia cerifera Mart.), a wild tree found mainly in Brazil. Carnauba wax is composed of fatty acid esters. It is a solid at room temperature and is in the form of flakes. It has a yellow colour that depends on the degree of purification. It melts above 85 ° C.

The carnauba wax is measured by the improvement it brings to the strength or the final consistency of the end product in sectors such as conservation of furniture, furs, surface coatings (paper, wood …), waxes for surface treatment, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
