Carnauba wax is obtained from the carnauba palm leaves (Copernicia cerifera Mart.), a wild tree found mainly in Brazil. Carnauba wax is composed of fatty acid esters. It is a solid at room temperature and is in the form of flakes. It has a yellow colour that depends on the degree of purification. It melts above 85 ° C.
