Jojoba oil is obtained from the seed of the jojoba shrub (Simmondsia Chinensis) that grows mainly in desert climates such as Argentina, Southern California, Northern Mexico, Arizona and Israel.
The oil content of the fresh seed is 55%. The usual quality is that of the cold pressed with a very bright yellow and very mild odour. The composition of jojoba oil is chemically unique in that it corresponds to a natural wax made up of fatty alcohols. It is composed almost entirely of long chain monounsaturated fatty acids (gadoleic and erucic). It has a high oxidative stability due to the presence of natural tocopherols in the form of vitamin E.
It has the ability to dissolve sebum, a kind of wax that accumulates in the hair follicles and is primarily responsibile for oily skin. Its main application is the treatment of oily skin and acne, regulating hydration and balancing sebum. Cares for scalps with sebaceous hypersecretion. High penetrability into the skin. Mainly used for the face and the scalp.
