Description
Fish oil is obtained from various marine species such as anchovy, horse mackerel, mackerel, sardines … They are known as pelagic species which are found in shallow waters and near the coast. The average content of oil, by weight, is 3-5%, depending on the species.
Catches are mainly located in Chile, Peru, Denmark, Iceland, Norway … Very controlled due to fishing quotas set by the governments of each country.
Not all species have a composition in EPA / DHA appropriate for obtaining this quality.
It is marketed mainly as a fully processed oil although it is normally produced according to the customers final needs.
